While he has always been athletic (including hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro and Machu Picchu), he committed himself to fitness about three years ago. Subsequently, he has lost 40 pounds and is a pescatarian. His first race was a Tough Mudder in 2012. He then signed up for another Tough Mudder and three Spartans.
In late March of 2013 he read “Finding Ultra” and “Born to Run”, and quickly signed up for two Half Ironmans and a full Ironman. More important than the race is the journey getting there.
His goal for this year is to learn to live in the pain cave and have fun. In addition to being a real estate executive and racing, he is also Executive Vice Chairman of the Fisher House Foundation, serves on the Board of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, and works with other various charities nationally.
